Creation of a website with automatic redirect based on location for Lviv Croissants.

Objectives.

As Lviv Croissants entered the global market, the company needed a scalable web solution that could flexibly adapt to different countries. The main task was to create separate sites for each country with the ability to automatically detect the user’s location and redirect to the appropriate version of the site.

Each regional resource had to display localized content: a list of languages, a menu with prices in local currency, and news relevant to a particular region to ensure relevance and convenience for the user.

In addition to local sites, the project envisaged the creation of a separate global site (Global) – a brand showcase at the international level that demonstrates the geography of the network’s presence and serves as a central hub for navigating to local sites.

Solution.

To implement the project, a WordPress-based multisite was created with the ability to centrally manage all regional versions through a single admin panel. The key element was a system for automatically determining the user’s location by IP address, which provides a redirect to the appropriate local site with adapted content.

The structure, navigation, and visual interface language were developed in accordance with the principles of modern UI/UX design, which made the site intuitive and comfortable to use on any device.

Key project milestones

  • Market research: Work on the project began with an analysis of the needs of the target audience and a study of the competitive environment in international markets. This allowed us to formulate a clear technical task and identify the main functional priorities for the future product.
  • Prototyping: Based on the research, we developed the site’s wireframes with a focus on logical structure, easy navigation, and quick access to key sections such as menus, location maps, news, and contact information. Special attention was paid to redirect scenarios and content adaptation for local markets.
  • UI/UX design: The interface was created in accordance with the principles of modern UI/UX design: concise, visually clean, adaptive, and intuitive. The main goal was to ensure comfortable interaction with the site for users from different countries – regardless of device or language.
  • Functionality development: We implemented a low-level IP-based redirect mechanism that integrates into the page load cycle even before the main content is initialized. This solution minimizes latency, providing a quick switch to the regional site without any noticeable delay for the user.
The architecture is built with high load in mind and provides for the separation of content by region at the CDN or server route level, which allows you to maintain stable performance when scaling a project to dozens of countries.
  • Support: After the launch, the team continues to provide technical support, introduce updates and new features, which allows the solution to scale and adapt to dynamic changes in business and local market requirements.

Project features

  • Geolocation and automatic redirection
The site is equipped with a mechanism for automatically determining the user’s location based on the IP address, which redirects them to the appropriate local version of the resource – for a specific city, region or country.
This solution provides instant access to relevant content – languages, menus, prices and news – and significantly increases the level of personalization, which positively affects the quality of the user experience from the very first visit.

The result.

The website created for Lviv Croissants has become a key tool for digital interaction with the audience. Thanks to automatic geolocation and redirection, users are immediately taken to a website with content tailored to their region.
This allows the brand to provide a personalized experience across the entire network, improves the ease of navigation in bakeries, and contributes to the efficient operation of the business in international markets.
